Office Policies
Appointments
We understand that no one ever plans to get sick. Our goal is to never make you wait for days to be seen when you don’t feel well. Same day appointments are always available if you are sick. Please call as soon as the office is open to be seen that day. We do everything we can to see patients in a timely manner. Please show up 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete any necessary paperwork. Although unforeseen medical emergencies may occur that force us to run behind schedule, every effort will be made to see you near your scheduled time.
Prescription Refills
One of the most common medical mistakes involves errors with prescriptions and drug interactions. We ask that you bring your medications with you to every office visit to ensure the best possible care. Antibiotics, controlled medications, and pain medications will not be refilled without the patient being seen. Medications will not be refilled after hours. Please contact the office during our normal business hours for any medication refills.
After Hours
Our normal business hours are listed on the Contact Us page. The doctor is available after hours for emergency issues only. Medications will not be refilled and lab results will not be reviewed after hours. If your require urgent medical attention after hours, we recommend that you go to the nearest urgent care center or emergency room.
No Show/Cancellation
We understand that circumstances may occur beyond your control that may require you to cancel an appointment. Please call us at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot make your appointment. We will be more than happy to reschedule your appointment. Patients who frequently do not show up for appointments may be dismissed from the practice. Medications are typically filled to last until your next scheduled visit. Missing appointments without rescheduling may cause you to run out of your medication.
Test Results
We will always call you with your lab results, even if they are normal. Lab results are typically available within one week. If you have not heard from us regarding your results after one week, please contact the office to review your results. At times, you may be asked to schedule an appointment to discuss results with the doctor if there is a significant change in treatment required. Lab results will not be discussed after hours.
Labs/Referrals
For your convenience, bloodwork is often drawn in our office and then sent out to the appropriate lab. It is expected that any referrals for additional testing outside of our office to a specialist are completed by the patient as requested by Dr. Dycus. Failure to comply with these referrals may put your health at risk.
Physicals
These appointments allow for the opportunity to focus on wellness and preventative care. Due to insurance policies, a physical cannot be performed at the same time as a visit for an illness. If you are sick, you may be asked to reschedule your physical for a different day.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT
If you are in need of chronic pain medications, you will be referred to an appropriate pain management specialist to best meet your medical needs.
